Reverse Camera
I have an early DD that i got off Stubs on here, Sean is sorting a new GPS board out for us, so i looked into a reverse camera.
I understand that CMOS ones are not the best, and CMD is better? If so is this one any good? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MG-MG7-Car-Bac...item2c5ae4c388 Just want a wired one to keep costs down. Thanks

I got mine for ~£15 on eBay, not an MG7 one though...
CCD is better, but CMOS is enough. |

It doesn't look as if it is all that well 'stuck'. That is quite a large mass of metal to heat up and assuming it is solderable, it would need quite a large iron to get it hot enough for the solder to run. Maybe better to tap onto the actual wires.

And should of made myself clearer - you needn't spend loads on the MG7 one, when you can use any one.
I got mine for £15, and the only extra step I had to do was add a wedge underneath to angle it a little more so I could see the ball of the towbar. This is what I did - means if I ever change lights it's still as simple as it should be. |

I think I have already mentioned somewhere that I went back in and drilled small holes and used self tappers to screw the power and earth cables into the same area.
Now works fine. If I was doing it again I wouldn't get the wireless type. Use cables running them under the carpet to the unit. Less chance of interference with the signal. Not that I have much trouble with mine but occasionally I get bars across the screen like a TV signal with interference. Also with the cable one you can turn the camera on even while driving (not recommended). It can still be powered the way I did but screw it for a better connection. Edd
