I also have a very similar problem in that I have extremely intermittent radio reception on the Hi line unit (2004 May build date). It's very annoying - so much so I've bought the ipod bits to wire my ipod up instead. Really miss the radio at times. I pulled the bits off but couldn't see anything that was loose in the rear pillar box.

glad to hear it isnt just mine thats a bit occasionally hopeless.
i'm off to check that it isnt the heated screen kicking in thats causing the problems. if it is i'll be talkijg to my egg head friends at work to see if they can figure out a fix.

just been out for a trial and it is the heated rear screen. darned rover second guessing my needs again!
