Foxwell NT301 does the job for me.
And now I have Toaf on my laptop, I'm well covered.

I have a regular use for the Foxwell at the moment, I have an lpg only fault, which seem to suffer from fuel shortage at higher throttle, looks like I have a faulty relay in the lpg ecu. I'm slowly progressing a mod to the ecu; at the moment the Foxwell is regularly used to do a reset.

depends on what you want to spend ..

ToAF is free as long as you have a laptop or if you can get working on a Phone.

Loads of cheap ones around that will do basic OBD2 ( worth checking the specs if you have a diesel as some cheap ones don't work with diesels .)

If you want to go deeper in to the car then spending a bit more cash will get you there, but as far as I know only 2 makes of scanner actually still have have MG rover in the menus..
That's Mucar and Thinkcar, which I believe are the same company anyway ,
Have search on Amazon for the prices .. mostly over £100 though..

I have tried quite a few and these 2 seem the most comprehensive for our cars, outside of a PSCAN (limited to MGR).. or a T4 , rather expensive and still limited to MGR

Topdon will not anything more than regular OBD2.. bin there done it.

A very few will touch the ABS systems when in some BMW modes, but it's very hit N miss.
To do this and the BCU , it's toaf 1st and the mucar/ thinkcars.2nd.

A while ago I bought an iCarsoft EU MAX. Has done everything I have needed it to do on various vehicles, including diagnosing Land Rover ride height following strut replacement, and winding Audi electric rear calipers in/out for pad replacement. Website support is sound, plug MAX into the PC for software updates, select vehicle makes, or all of them, I only downloaded 5 but can go back and download others. Not used it on the 75 yet, obviously no Rover software, but I played with it and it communicates ok using generic OBD scan.

When it came to the Disco 4 ride height, it displayed the height and pressure of each strut, one was out a little, the replaced one was way out, but it would not let me change the values, they were greyed out. apparently if you want just this feature it is about £500+, bit of a rip off when it does everything but what is one of the most needed features,

When I had my KV6 Freelander and my MGF I bought a diagnostic system from Blackbox Solutions based out of Malta. It uses reverse engineered software designed by, I understand, Brit ex MGR expats. They also have software for the R75 and ZT. It is a professional grade system, similar to T4 and runs on a laptop. One advantage is that it does not generate codes, it gives the issues in text which is more straightforward. The downside is it is quite expensive as you need to buy their router to connect to the car and buy software modules for each system, ie, SRS, ABS, ECU, etc. They are available for single car use or for a higher price for multiple car use. The system works very well, but for what it's worth I have found that TOAF has done everything I need on my ZT-T.
