The op has a Harmony radio fitted and these do not use a infra red system for the steering wheel controls.

The Harmony is hard wired to the steering wheel controls without any interface.

The Sony head unit uses this plug for the steering wheel controls

Input 1 is 1.1volt

Input 2 is 2.2volt

GND = G

Only the ZT with a factory fitted Kenwood unit has an adapter for it - bolted to the bracket behind the stereo, the OP has a 75 with a Harmony unit.

An adapter lead is needed, together with a patch lead for the make of stereo being fitted.
