But yes signs must be obeyed at all times (sorry I forgot that), I only said that as the disabled badge only allows you to park on a two yellow line marking in an area thats over 10-15 meters away from junctions, some car parks (depending on their rules), open disabled bays, pay and display areas (but not permit, taxi, bus or city car parking), supermarket car park disabled bays (unless otherwise stated.) I Live in brighton (thus I know the problems with parking, including scum who park in the disabled bays and don't have badges, so we have to park elsewhere). I come out most of the time to help james with physical activities (grocery shopping, carrying stuff back to the car, runnin into shops and other physical stuff as he has fibromyalgia (chronic nervous pain condition!), in exchange he helps me with handwriting, finances, talking on the phone, mediation and other social interaction as I have AS and other psychological problems, he also has a driving license (I can't drive due to sight disturbances, co-ordination problems and occasional blackouts (i've got mild narcolepsy)....In other words, he is the brains and I am the brawn . Between us we are fairly clued up onto what we can and can't do, including to one we found out the other day.....do you know if you are caught by a parking attendant sitting in a disabled bay with a badge, i.e: eating a sandwich or waiting for your friend while picking something up from the shop, you can get a ticket, also you can get a ticket if the badge holder is not temporarily in the car (technically you could get done if they are getting something from the boot and the non-badge holder is not standing outside the car, i've never come across a attendant who is that picky, but I guess it could possibly happen!) We have talked to attendants around here and they state that if they see you doing something illegal (parking infraction), they will give you five minutes to come back and sort it out before they book you! So I guess in that case if you parked on a single yellow line that was unloading and loading only, I guess you have five minutes to do your business and get back to your car. If you can prove that they didn't give you five minutes apparently can contest it (how is the question!)

The above sounded confused, here are the rules and a link to the full Blue Badge rules....
Badge holders may park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours but in general not where there are restrictions on loading or unloading – indicated by yellow kerb dashes and/or signs on plates. (You may wish to check whether a particular local authority has chosen to exempt Blue Badge holders from this restriction.) Where local schemes apply, such as those that apply in parts of central London (see page 27), you should check the rules for that area. You are not entitled to park on yellow lines in off-street car parks. https://www.gov.uk/government/upload...sibilities.pdf

Dot Gov Says
Have a look here,
http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/the-blue-...parking-scheme Badge holders may also be exempt from limits on parking times imposed on others and can park for up to three hours on single and double yellow lines so long as they are not causing an obstruction (except where there is a ban on loading or unloading or other restrictions). You may be OK if the badge was on display. Wizzo337 😈 |

Courts are where lawyers love arguing over 'technicalities' Your car may well have been parked illegally but the plank who wrote out the ticket doesn't even know what colour or make it is so how can we believe any of the other facts are in fact correct ? A decent brief would have it thrown out of court in minutes ! Regards Chris |
