£108 for boot trim
Hi guys
While sorting out the wiring to the reg plate light I found that the right hand side bolt (holding the trim on) was made of plastic and had sneered of while I was unscrewing it. So now the boot trim is not secured as it should. Rimmer bros have just quoted me £108!!!!! The trim is for the saloon with the badge on it. The badge also needed replacing so this price includes the badge. Anyone know where I can get a cheaper replacement or suggest a fix? Cheers Alan

The same thing happend to me. I took one steel bolt, cut the head of it and glued just the part that left (with thread) with superstrong glue to the trim. It's holding very good and you will see it doesn't need to be tightened very much.

I was looking for one when mine was so loose, but when I investigated it was those central bolts. I knew someone who was breaking one and he had those bolts so that fixed mine. As I say they come up pretty regularly. You could always put a wanted ad in the for sale section on here. The only one I can see on eBay at the moment comes complete on a silver bootlid and is for the MK1. I assume as yours has a badge on it that yours is a facelift?? The plastic things are not plastic. I found out when I dropped one of mine inside the boot and had to use a telescopic magnet to get it back out
