Not something we all keep in our back pocket though is it?
Looks like something from the Inquisition.
Please thank you Mick

Hi Brian.
Question if you don't mind please did you have the said tool made up, or is it a standard tool which can be purchased cheers Arctic

EEK !!

I have the full complement of Rover Special Tools Steve, one of the benefits of spending what would have bought me a nice V8 tourer

I might have a look into seeing if this could be reproduced at a reasonable price...

Of course anyone wishing to do the job at my place would be welcome to use it too, providing they bring the biscuits, I'll provide the coffee

Woah! I've added the part number to my daily eBay search list, just in case one pops up.
Looks a handy thing to have about, as I've been asked if I can change them numerous times. I'd only use a hammer and chisel on my own car of course.

Default Hydramount

The secret is to soak the area at the bottom of the Hydramount with releasing fluid, NOT WD40, releasing fluid which has 'searching 'qualities.
This is easier on a diesel as the Hydramount sits in a housing which you can
squirt the fluid into. Mine was so tight that the metal sections which I was hitting to remove it were bending and threatening to break off. Five minutes
of soaking in the fluid and it undid with one tap. Well worth changing if you suffer from engine vibration, it transformed my car.

Default Better price.

Anyone fancy getting one of these tools (LRT-12-169) at a more reasonable price?

https://jlrequipment.service-solutio...px?SKU=303-969

Not sure if price includes VAT - probably not.

They only sell directly business to business - if someone could purchase one I would certainly be first in line to borrow for say £10 (plus deposit). Easily get your money back in no time...

Also look here for deals on tools - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/123kfzteile/?_dmd=1&_nkw=td4

They had a hydramount removal tool previously and sold for around £20 ish IIRC.

When I did mine, I followed Wuzerks advice and soaked the bottom of the mount with releasing fluid - half an hour later it came undone quite easily with a couple of taps on the raised metal tags on the base using a large screwdriver and hammer.

Perhaps I was just lucky - I am hoping for the same luck when I tackle the crank pulley bolt in the coming days !
