Great Stuff Mike.
I'm just getting ready for the Scottish meeting at Thurslane this weekend. Later today I'll get fully back on board and see where there are things that need pushing along, thanks so far for everything you are doing and have done to make your stage a success Andrew

Stage updates
Anyonw who needs the "official PR" for local press TV/ Radio, here it is
PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE From: Andrew Garcarz Happy Birthday Rover 75 In 1999 the Rover 75 was launched to an expectant UK car buying public, eager to see the car that Rover described as “the car we had to make”. 10 Years on, the marque has all but disappeared. However, a growing band of enthusiasts assembled under the banner of the Rover 75 & MG ZT Owners Club are determined to ensure that this formidable modern classic is preserved and promoted for future generations to appreciate and enjoy. To commemorate and celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Rover 75, members of the Owners Club are staging a Round Britain Relay which will cover over 2000 miles in just 48 hours. Starting from the former Rover factory at Cowley, at 6.00 pm on 19th June, the rally will traverse the UK in 11 stages. The finish, on the 21st June, will be at the MG/Rover Longbridge plant, the home of the 75 & ZT until the sad demise of the company in 2005. Stages are split into sections, with drivers handing over the Club Official Mascot ‘Fred the Ted’ to each driver as the relay unfolds. Progress will be monitored in real-time using GPRS/GPS technology and be visible on the club’s web site. We would love to see plenty of fellow owners along the way to discover what a great following these models have. Contacts for further details: Andrew Garcarz, 10th Anniversary Round Britain Relay Organiser Telephone: 07775518044 Email: [email protected]

General post concerning stage 6 PR
Hi Guys and Gal,
Cleared it today with PNE FC for the photoshoot there although there will not be any football club intervention as such. Gretna Green got back to me today and they are going "all out for it"! I am really pleased with their response. They will be waiting for us to arrive around (1745hrs) and they will arrange for us to take pictures of our cars in front of the Old Smithy Building and use the building free of charge. So there is plenty of scope for some good photo shots here - we can get the flag up etc etc. So it would be great guys if as many as possible could stay on to Gretna - NO PRESSURE! Word of warning for "Fred the Ted" - I think secretly my daughters teddy is planning on "stowing away" so Ted will have to watch himself around the Old Smithy Anvil or his bachelor days could be numbered! One more thing - Gretna Green did ask that when the photos are posted on our website could we put in a link to their website http://www.gretnagreen.com/cms/ Cheers __________________ |

I've sent in the PR to some local papers.
Has anyone contacted the BBC. They like this sort of thing for the regional news.

I sent press reports to most of the local papers and also the local BBC news teams in the areas stage 8 will pass through.
Up to now haven't heard from any of them, which is a little disappointing. They may I suppose still put pieces in one or two of the the papers but feel they have enough information from the press release. Russ

From all the papers, radio & TV stations I contacted, only the local rag came back and I got a pic and a mention into it.
They left out the Club's web address and the bit about Fred the Ted. Still at least they got it into the right week!! Oh..... According to the paper I'm driving on Sunday - so DO NOT BELIEVE everything you read in the press

Similarly, I contacted a lot of the local newspaers, radio and tv but nothing back to date except for the Lancaster Guardian. Had a few pictures taken with the paper etc. but I have been out this morning and bought the paper and there is nothing in there!

I will be giving a Radio Interview on BBC Radio WM at about 11.45 this morning to talk about the Round Britain Relay.
Listen to BBC Radio WM live online.here http://www.bbc.co.uk/birmingham/local_radio/ click on Listen Live. The more IT literate might like to record it for posterity. A Podcast is also available for Pods? Andrew
