Default Have you lost or damaged your undertray?

Have you lost or damaged your undertray?
Here is a heads up.
The Company is Hampson Composites, based in Bolton.

Hampson Composites.
Vale Mill. Vale Street. Bolton BL2 6QF.

Their contact number is 01204 381626.

I called and collected one yesterday. They made them officially for MG/Rover.
£70.00 complete with all the fixings included.
A perfect fit. They have a few still in stock.

Kev.

Good find.
I wonder if they could make more and what sort of demand there would be.

HI Kevin.
Nice find now all you have to do is make sure if you take your car into a garage for any work that requires the under tray to be removed is make sure that they have replace it.

It as been known for garages to put them in a corner and forget to refit them, by the time you have noticed and returned for the under tray it as either gone missing been broken or thrown in the skip

Dam, I have just fitted a second hand one that has been in the shed for the last 6years and needed some much needed tlc.
Could there be a sticky or similar like there is for the remanufacturer of rear light seals and worn power fold motor gears.

I always do my own oil changes and take my car to a garage recommended by this forum here in the Nth West. (Horners give you 10% if your a member of the forum).
But like you say, always best to bear in mind to check all is sorted properly before you pay and leave.

The later PPD Mk I's had a short cut a way version of the undertray.
The guy at the factory said it was just a cut off undertray that's all.

I have a diesel Mk I, they have a sponge layer of soft thin foam adhered to the plastic base. cant see how vital that is to any extent.

The guy at the factory said they can't get the foam sponge stuff anymore so they use an extra alloy plate for the diesel. See my photo.
Also there is a guy on the bay selling the exact same tray for £124.00

Or remove and replace it yourself, - the garage might appreciate it and charge you less! I don't understand why garages do remove and lose them, or why it is such a big deal to refit them. Mine stays under the car until I refit it after an oil change. Not like they're hard to fit.

I emailed Hampson Composites asking if they could make more.

This is there reply
Yes we could probably make more as it wouldn’t be worth setting up for a few we would make in the hundreds just don’t know what the demand would be?
