Default £1500 for car tax discs. Really?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271700983430
Just seen loads of tax discs on EBay for some really crazy money.
Are they really collectible now?
If true, I am sitting on a windfall as I have all 10 discs from my Contemporary SE.
I'm guessing they will be collectible in 20 years but not now surely?

The one you have selected is worthless in my opinion.

Have a look at what has sold to get a better idea of their value...

That seems more like it. I think I will put mine away for 20 years at least!

I have a tax disk stamped in 1979 I wonder if it's worth owt?

I also have an unused six months book of Motor Fuel Ration tokens for a 1100-1500cc / 10-13HP car. Just keeping it for interest. But maybe it could take me on a world cruise?

I want a tax disc from April 1965 if anyone knows where I could get one.

You can download old tax disc blanks for any year to fill in yourself - or pay them to make it for you. My 75 has this one filled in and housed in the fancy Rover holder I had. I didn't want to get rid of it so this nicely adds a little retro.

This is not the genuine one I mentioned earlier.

You mean a reproduction or genuine?

There are loads of repro disc sites like this one: http://www.creativetaxdiscs.co.uk/

I may be missing the point here, but why have a tax disc dated from 1979 on a Rover 75? One from its year of manufacture would make sense perhaps. Unless 1979 is significant to you for some other reason.

I've got a disc for FWV571 Dec 60. My dad's old Pilot. Worth anything?
