According to MG Rover Richard, that means that you have a K-bus fault to the BCU.

In addition, you could run the ATC diagnostics to see if any further faults are reported which might help:
  1. Press and simultaneously hold the 'Auto' and the air distribution buttons.
  2. Turn the ignition key from '0' to 'II' (which I believe is 'ign. on').
  3. Wait whilst all the control panel indicators cycle on and off.
  4. 'FC' appears in the LH window and a two digit fault code on the RH side. '00' means no fault found. Ignore '21' and/or '22' which follow low light levels to the sunlight sensors.
  5. To revert to normal operation press 'Off' or turn the ignition key back to '0'.

pull the battery for 30 mins +

if it reoccurs then the k-bus is being pulled to ground...

Just repaired one like this today, is the heatred rear window not working either and are there any other faults?
It's most likely to be a K-bus issue with a module if you have a FBH then try disconnecting it see if the fault disappears, if not then it's a case of disconnecting one by one the modules connected to K-Bus

If that doesn't work then it's likey to be corrosion inn the K-bus header under the carpets were all the wires from the various modules join this often happens if the carpets have been wet for a while

In todays case it was a bit more complex there was a K-bus controller problem caused by the FBH but some numpty had tried to resolve the issue by cutting the K-bus wire at the IPK and LSM and joining both of them together effectively isolating them from the rest of the system. End result no Sat-nav, ATC instant ERR message on selecting A/C, door s would only unlock on remote.
All issues solved upon rejoining the cut wires and unplugging the FBH plugs

Don't you just love it when people add their own faults into the mix Russ.
