So to get this back on thread, VT4 is a super tool, for which you can diagnose your own car for a very reasonable price.

It will be easy enough for Phil to explain to any prospective purchaser the legitimate avenues open to purchase the required software to be used in conjunction with VT4

The required software in addition to the VT4 server is as follows, available from Omitec

RDS 5.06R

DST0001A (RDS Tune 1)

DXT0002W (RDS Tune 2)

Omitec CAPS (T4 startup removel utility)

DST0006V

To answer any potential purchasers queries, Phil's program is suitable only for Rover 75 and MGZT variants, it is not suitable for any other Rover or Land Rover models.

Direct your PM's at Phil, it is his baby, and I wish him every success with it.

So what exactly will I need for a 75, also a 25 with a gearbox fault that I have had checked locally, and three scanners would not touch the gearbox ECU.also not being to mechanically minded, and not to clued up with a laptop

You will need an actual T4 to diagnose your Rover 25, VT4 is not suitable for anything other than Rover 75 and MG ZT variants

I'll leave that then, I've had enough of transformers this year since our nephew got 4 for Christmas that only I can transform (misspent youth I suppose)
