Skull cap mirror cover replacement
Hi All,
I bought myself a pair of chrome covers to replace the body colour ones - Before I attempt to change them over is there a particular technique for removal / fitting? Many thanks

Start on the joint of the under side of the mirror. Use an old credit card or plastic spatula for leveridge..

The first time you do it, it will seem daunting while flexing the old hard plastic cover, but the next one will be easy. As you have new ones, and replacing them is easier, you don't have to worry too much about your old ones. I ran some silicon grease around the edge of the new covers, to help fitting and to form a waterproof seal. Also, take the opportunity to put a drop of oil on the 'ball joint' at the base, whilst the cover is off. It makes folding the mirror inwards much easier. Roverite. |

Thanks both, - that sounds a good idea to lubricate the ball joint and I like the idea of a waterproof seal also
Many thanks Neal
