Arrow Rear seat removal - Saloons only

Seems to be a common problem for some,to remove rear seat back. So,i've just taken mine out in 10 mins & I'll try & explain.
First, remove the seat part by lifting the front firmly, then push back as far as you can to release the rear clips underneath. You should then be able to remove the seat. You will need a torx 50 to release the centre seat belt buckle to make life easier. Then remove the side bolsters by pulling out the top,& then lifting away from the bodywork. Now,it seems, the hard part.
Fold the rear down completely,to reveal the hinge part..
Put your hand under the seat,& lift...
This should release the pivot.
Repeat the same on the other side..
And you should now have a released back rest ...
Hope this helps a little.

Just remember that will only work for the saloon the estates use a different locking system for the seat back.

Good info and pics, Ronnie, well done. I don't have folding seats but thinking about the difficulty some have mentioned when trying to remove the back of a folding seat then is it definitely the case that the base of the seat MUST be removed first? If so then that omission could explain the problem which some have encountered.

It might be a silly question, but is refitting the reverse of removal (as Haynes say)? i.e. replace the rear seat back before replacing the bench part? I have heard folk have problems getting the seat to latch properly after removal, and I was thinking that part might be easier with the seat back still out?

For the sake of 5 mins,& a lot of hassle,i would say always remove the seat first. You sure your seats don't fold Willy? have you not got the 2 straps between the seat & the rear?

If you fit the seat part back first, then you're going to have the same trouble refitting the backrest. The problem some people have in refitting the seat is, they don't push the base back far enough for the spring clips to engage, then find it difficult to push the front part down.

Ronnie, I have amended the title to indicate saloons only, as this will assist members when searching for info

Looking forward to part two,

Seconded! An excellent addition for all of us who wrestle with doing things in our cars!
