I am afraid your boot rack is not fitted correctly.

The longer bar should be near the rear screen.

Oops

If you need to get the can opener out then I'm sure something is amiss

If you're unsure just ask on here for the answer before proceeding with any job

Any of our traders have a replacement boot at a reasonable price?

Default Yes Ooops

Well that does explain why i had to modify the inside of the lid, and i did wonder about the holes that were already there. So the rack has been assembled incorrectly according to the brochure.

the rack is designed so you can remove the chrome bit and turn it around if you so wish probably what the previous owner did! On our ZT I had to fit it with the upright chrome bar at the back of the car because of the spoiler being in the way it wouldn't fit the correct way around and the case would have been impossible to get on and off, not ideal and it looks like a pigs ear when fitted but it was the only way to take my mother on holidays there was no way we could get all our luggage plus her rollator in the boot, never had it fitted since but the chrome studs don't look too bad

We all make mistakes

If you are ever unsure just pop a post up here if you can't find the answer and some knowledgeable member will be along with the answer.

They've got me out of a couple of scrapes over the years

Of you decide to refit on another boot lid use a step drill to do the holes they cut beautiful holes in thin sheet steel and don't slip either

Did you tie her on with rope or use the the rubber hook on things?
