Default SHERBORNE Classics at the castle . 2018

A bit early really .. but this Message has just come through..

At the request of the Owners of Sherborne Castle Estate the 2018 Classic and Supercar Show will revert to being a one-day event and this will be held on Sunday 15th July.

The Show Chairman Nigel Young said:-

‘Car Club presence is at the core of this event providing a fantastic display of members cherished vehicles. The supercars are fascinating but beyond the realm of most of us mortals and I was delighted to see so many of the public visitors showing enthusiastic interest in both the Club stands and the Private classic cars present at the show.’

For the 2018 ‘Sunday show’ the charge for Car Clubs will be equivalent to our one day show in 2016, for example 5 cars displayed on a 7.5x15M £50 stand = £10 per car. The fee includes entry for all occupants of each car, a free copy of the showguide (cover price £3) and all profits are donated to charity.

We welcome comments and advice from yourselves as we strive to continually improve the show for exhibitors and visitors alike. Revised site entry and stand layout introduced this year provided faster access to all areas and greater emphasis to Club Stands.

We really appreciate your continued support, your presence each year enables us to raise significant amounts of money for National and Local Charities and we look forward to welcoming you again in 2018.
Regards

Stuart Annett
Show Secretary

I enjoyed the show this year and I hopefully will be able to attend next year as well. I think the show will probably be better as a one day show again as there maybe more people attending.

This might seem like a bit of a rant , but I like to tell it like it is !.

This Show is an extremely good show , as good as Any other i would think, but 2017 Year it was very Poorly supported from from on here !, despite being well adverised and not expensive either ? , I had to fill a few prepaid places with Friends and Family !

It Does seem that shows in the Southern area's are deemed not worthy of a visit ? , from anyone north of Bristol, whilsts peeps are happy to trot many miles all over the UK to other Shows?

Mini Whinge mode off... .

If any thing is arranged for Sherborne in 2018 we seem to have a few options,

All would be about the same costs ...

1. Either buy your own tickets turn up and just get plopped in the general areas.

2. Throw our lot in the MG owners South West Group , who always put on a real good MGR display area, and pay for the tickets through them.

3. Do it ourselves as in the past and try to put on a better show , with maybe Forum Support??? .

And we will have to sort out the Payment rules to try and prevent whoever the organiser is , from having to make up the monies differences for the lack of attendance .

Chris,

I totally agree with you .
I would rather go for option 3, Do it ourselves as in the past and try to put on a better show.
And agree to a payment adjustment if required.

Pete.

Chris,

I enjoy all your friendship & company, make me feel so welcome.
I make the most of the time "down South", Powderham,Sherborne, then spending the week inbetween on Dawlish Warren, can,t get any better.
Can,t understand members in the 260,s, who live local, don,t turn up.

Pete.

Also have confirmed that it would be Ok to Join up with the South West Owners Club FB group , if thats the way we decide. but they will be booking a
a 20 car plot , and are usually very well supported !! so its a maybe? if space allows .

Also theres No Camping at the meet .

Won't be able to make this next year now as I've decided to go to the Gretna meet which unfortunately is the same day as the Sherborne event.
Cheers Ian
