Eventually got round to fitting the roof mounted whip aerial to my Tourer - what a difference compared to the inferior window mounted one that i've put with for 2 years!! Then fitted the seatbelt adjuster mechanism, sent by member Dattrike, just the passenger carpets to refit now they are dry, with the seat to follow, to finish this week's work on 'slouchy'!!

Removed all the seats and gave them a good clean and conditioning, SIX hours from start to finish, knackered now.

Changed my n/s/r wheel bearing again a year and a month after the last time ! The missus rang me at work to say the brakes were making a strange crunching noise on the Connie when coming to a stop. No abs light on but using my works bosch kts machine brought up a fault on the n/s/r. I let her use it yesterday and told her to be careful but she said the fault had gone. Anyway I've just changed it this afternoon for a FAG one and noticed the Ebay one had grease starting to weep out of the inside seal and debris sticking to it. I've cleaned the corrosion again around the centre of the back plate and treated the area with anti rust treatment. All back together and the hand brake adjusted and all good again on the road test.

While my head is being squiffed clean, I started on fettling the hydraulic tappets - the exhaust set anyway. Tapping out the damper cylinder/piston took more energy than I expected, so I now have a sore hand. Hopefully, I'll get my shiny head back tomorrow.

My bonnet and boot badges on my ZT are just stickers that the previous owner had put on top of the faded badges.
Plus the actual "Z" and "T" badges on the boot are missing. So, these turned up today! A job for the weekend!!

A busy one today, changed inner and outer track rod ends for Kev.l, then acquired a nearly new klarius exhaust from the scrappy to replace this one that was slightly past its best.

In all fairness I'm rescuing a car that hasn't moved for over 3 years so its not going to be pleasant.
MOT next to see what else is required..

Definitely fixable, will see what the MOT tester finds, the car is already 100% better as its all dry now with the sunroof drains sealed!

Quick question folks as exhausts are being discussed. I have a 2003 Cdti. I got a good secondhand back box off a CDT and the damn thing doesn’t fit! Thinking of getting a Klarius but which one would suit my Cdti? Appreciate any advice.
