Rover 75 connoisseur tourer red 03 plate 1.8 lpg conversion
Hi I am reluctantly selling my rover 75. She has been a good car. Recentley MOT'd new exhaust, clutch, cam sensor, new tyres. Has a profesionaly installed lpg system.
The problem is looks like the ecu has just failed due to getting a tad wet thanks to the drainage issues. She needs to go on a T4 and get checked properley. Im quite happy to sell her has spares or repair. But my husband wants me to break her. Dont like that idea myself. She turns over tries to start. sometimes she will start and then die in a few seconds. A friends diagnostic said imobiliser staying on (not a t4) have spoken to Jules and hes thinks its going to need a new ecu and to go onto t4 machine. Unfortunatley I just dont have the space or time to sort her out. 3 kids t I Curentley live in the cheshire area. if anyone fancys taking her off my hands or would like parts please message me. |

Firstly, welcome to the club and thanks for taking the trouble to come on here and offer the car (rather than just sending it to the breakers as others have done... )
I'm down in Devon, but I'm sure a member nearer to you will be interested. Might be be worth putting it in the cars for sale section, so more members see it ? Thanks again.

Sounds too good to break !
It could be worth giving this chap a call …...http://gpautoelectrics.co.uk/ George is based in Mold , near you , and has a T4 setup and knows how to use it well . He does home visits and could diagnose and probably fix your problem Doesn't hurt to get a price Also DPL just over the border...…..https://www.dplautosroverland.co.uk/

Very unusual for the 1.8 to suffer a wet ecu as the unit is sealed.
More likely to be the wiring from the crank sensor that has got burned and brittle and fried the ecu when the wires touched.
