The garage has given me two disc’s recording all the work carried out and another detailed invoice. Total time they worked on the car was 236 hours.
Hoping to collect her tomorrow afternoon.
The problem when fitting the rear spoiler is it only needs nipping up, no more than just above finger tight. The sticky gasket holds it firm.

Valid point. What does your insurance company value it at after such a big investment?
Looks cracking BTW!

Cool

I haven’t spoken to the insurance company yet as the house move is well underway. But I will speak with them early next week.

This evening Banana attended her first informal meet at the Quintrell Inn near Newquay. She got quite a few positive comments. Allen & Val travelled with me tonight, and Allen remarked, “Banana certainly drives well, the paint must have made her more aerodynamic”.
She pulled like the proverbial train.

I finally saw Banana in the flesh (...or should that be skin ) at the weekend, and the finish really is better than factory.

I've always been of the belief that if you can't spot a repair, then chances are, it's been done well. The only thing that might give any clue to the respray is that the finish is too perfect - most factory finishes have some 'orange peel' somewhere, but Banana is mirror perfect.

A real credit to you Bob

Cool Not good news................

............................. Having spent a colossal amount a money on the car and having sung the praises of the garage all is not well with Banana.

Boot full of water. Put the screen demister on and there is an awful noise coming from the front of the car in the radiator area.

And I have caught the mirror cap on a post. Just a minor scrape.
Banana is going in on Tuesday for another assessment on repairs.

That is SO frustrating, Bob. For that amount of money for what should be a restoration to better than new quality, it is to be expected that the car should not need to be seen by A&M Restoration again until it is invited back for the complimentary wash, wax and polish in a year. That is how it SHOULD be. I know, it is not that way, BUT it is ridiculous to have to take it back TWICE for them to fix mistakes they have made.

Sorry this is happening to you,
Glenn

Bob, you must feel like crying. Boot is probably just the rear light seals though, so should be an easy fix. Noise from the front could be the fan giving up the ghost, and not necessarily related to the work of the bodyshop.

A couple of summers ago I was about and about in my '75 when I started to get a horrendous noise from the front of the car - a really nasty sound. Turned out to be the death throes of my fan and a Revotec kit from Jules sorted it out nicely.

The mirror cap is really annoying though. May be worth getting a couple of spares painted whilst the bodyshop still has the paint to hand. Frustrating times, I'm sure, but with your new home and Bananas new suit of clothes, you're still winning .
