Race track near Otley?
Please enlighten me. Tarmac, Shale, Grass?
Is it going to be totally stripped out inside?
If you have spec for the cage I may know a man who can.

Perhaps that’s why there are no real track parts available for 75 varients but for 25 and 45 types.
My comments were not meant to belittle your racing aspirations, but with circuit racing much depends on power to weight ratios, and the 75 is a big heavy car.

If I wanted to race in a Rover, 3 examples spring to mind. a 25 or ZR with a 1.8 engine, a 45 with a V6 engine (prefer the saloon version as it has a stiffer body shell), or a V8 Rover 75 - if money is no object.

You could try with the V6 Rover 75 but you will always be at a weight disadvantage to a V6 Rover 45.

How much would a ZT weigh with stripped interior (just dash retained), no sound deadening, sunroof and mechanism removed, plastic side screens, no winders, aircon and power steering removed, plastic bonnet, wings, and boot lid ?

Any thoughts

I recon you'll get 200kg out of a zt if you go mad and strip every unecessary item out of it. But you'd add 50kg back in with a roll cage, then a fire extinguisher system.

I remember watching an old video where that dreadnought zt was on track with a 25/zr. The zt although it has 500+ horses with a very capable chassis it couldn't keep up with 25/zr with a tuned kv6. Half the power but about 2/3 of the weight.

I would like to track a zt but I went for a 25 due to price and parts availability.

Yes but the dreadnought had one key issue. It was basically running a standard diff and rear end. It spent more time spinning power out in the corners and having to be super light in throttle. I remember the driver compared it to an old one porsche turbo for pure death factor lol

Only problem with that is it's a waste of a (more than likely) good 75.
However I for one can confirm the 1.8t's are an absolute hoot and are quite a straight forward swap if you start with a 1.8 engined 25/zr.
