Depending on how much water it as sucked up, minimum of two weeks and that was in the height of summer when I did mine, even then you can sometimes still get that musty smell, it is best if you could source a dry one and add that Arctic.

Hi.
Drying a car carpet is a total pain. The thicker the carpet the longer it takes of course. Although I was lucky and my Rovers had dry interiors I have had problems with other cars and usually in the winter when there is little point in removing it unless you can live with it removed for a good few weeks.
If you can get it into a shed or out building a powerful fan may help along with a de-humidifier, the real trick is to get it dry quickly or it will smell.

I went and put a dry carpet in mine was much quicker than waiting for the old carpet to dry.

The thick foam on the back of the carpet is the problem it holds so much water, 3 days mine was hung out and I could still ring it out and fill half a bucket with water from it.

Carpet is a pain to dry out properly , best to get it out of the car and hang it up somewhere dry and airy , i went over the sponge part of the carpet with a wallpaper seam roller and that got a surprising amount of water out , after that just got to let nature take its course .

I wonder if a front carpet would fit into your typical washing machine? A good high speed spin would remove a gallon or two before hanging it out somewhere warm.

The air con should help if used with high heat also. You can hire dehumidifiers quite cheaply at builders merchants.

The only way to do it properly is to remove it. On my previous R75 with a sunroof I took it out and dried it in the conservatory. There is a lot of insulation under the carpet which will need draining out.

Dont forget to fix the leak. Mine waa the dreaded sunroof drains
