Rob (Wooleysox),
I've put you on the list as a provisional. There's no problem with numbers at present - if we exceed 24 I'll look to doing a second visit so that nobody misses out

For those who watched the Guy Martin Vulcan programme this evening you will all have seen XM655 in that; she does have the more powerful engines in too.

Yep she's the only survivor with the 20,000lb thrust Olympus 301 series engines so is a little special when compared to the 17,500lb Olympus 201 series engines fitted to XH558 and all other surviving aircraft.

In service use the 301 series engines were restricted to prevent 100% + throttle availability as this increased the fatigue wear of the blades (tho' they were unrestricted for the Blackbuck raids). I remember that when doing after-flight checks down the intakes the 301 series always had a higher number of blade cracks which we had to monitor for creep. Great job to do on a cold day - nice and snuggly warm in the intake while everyone else froze working the wings checking oils etc

Can't guarantee the engines running tho' that may be possible but they do have a spare that you can see. Don't get your hopes up - it'll not fit in the hybrid

Hi Simon,
No problem it'll be good to meet up.

Don't worry, getting into the pilots seats is the hard part - getting out is easy - you just pull the yellow handle and you'll be back outside in a flash.

75/ZT Vulcan saloon.

I like the sound of that, I'll strip it while I'm, there.
Sure no problem at all, still looking forward to it regardless and seeing in all her glory.

Remind I'll need to take spare battery's for the camera and try pod, I can get a few shots of the members cars on the day as well and post them here.
