Default how is the rear number plate light removed

Ive got some more LED lights for the rear number plate, but the connections in the lampholders are pants, and I want to remove the unit, clean the connections up, and fix the leds in properly ( as they wont go pop like filament bulbs).
has anyone an idea how the unit is removed on a facelift model, and please dont tell me the MG badge has to be removed ( although if it does, I have some more double sided sticky-its just a bit more of a faff)

had a go today, unfortunately it means rear spoiler removal. the spoiler was held on by double sided sticky and bolts, and I didnt reomve it for fear of breakage. one of my lampholders had a dodgy connection, but ive managed to solder a fine gauge wire from the offending spring clip to the feedpoint, so Its all sorted.

I was thingking of doing this. Do No. plate LEDs flash up the blown bulb signal, like the sidelights?

Undo the bolts to the spoiler and just pull hard the tape does release!
The lamp holder is also stuck on as well

A new one is about £17 so almost not worth repairing.

Keith, thanks for the advice onthe other thread, Ill try that.
who does the lamps ?, for that price Id be tempted to get a new one, tried E car parts but they didnt have anny
thanks

Steve

TC, yes they do , you need a load resistor, see thread below

http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ght=led+number

defeats the object in terms of saving current, but the LED lamps give a very nice light and dont blow after a few months as with filament lamps
