16" or 15" Wheels
At the moment i have 16" on my CDTI, would fitting 15" make any difference apart from the cost of the tyres. ie, are they noisier or do they effect fuel consumption and would it change the ride quality.

I agree with what Astraues says.
They also will also be no noticeable difference in the fuel consumption, as the 15 inch and 16 inch wheels, with the tyres fitted, have a similar rolling circumference. I have recently driven another member's car on a 500 mile plus run, who has 15 inch wheels, running on the same age / spec. car as mine. I have 16 inch wheels and the difference was noticeable. My car is very good, but this was even better on ride quality. There is also a significant difference in the price of the tyres. The 215/55/R16s are an expensive in comparison to the 15 inch or even 17 inch size. Supply and demand, I guess. 16 inch tyres can be as much as half as much again, or even twice the price on some brands.

I can recommend a downshift to 15s from 16s, definate improvement in the ride, and state of the wallet
