It's surprising how much work you can find for yourself on a nice day like today, I snowfoamed the car then snowfoamed the conservatory & decking to get rid of the green algae, The conservatory looks like new now even the roof.

Whilst I was doing that the council had delivered two wheelie bins in the front garden I ordered in August, they were supposed to collect the two damaged ones (both had split from top to bottom on two corners )

I'd read that from 11th September our council are now charging residents for new/replacement wheelie bins so I ordered these before that date.

Nearly made an ar5e of myself! Tried the central heating a few days ago, in the evening. Nowt, stone dead, boiler didn't react when I switched the heating on, wasn't starting to faff about with it in the evening. Much muttering, spent a couple of hundred on the bleedin' thing last year because of the same problem, engineer had to replace the diverter valve. Had another look at it today before calling someone in. Read online about a summer/winter setting, I've never changed that? Had a look at the panel, right enough, sun symbol on the panel! Prodded the button and heating now works.

Reminded me of the time years ago when our rented telly wouldn't switch on. We'd had bother with it before so my father phoned the shop ranting and raving. Engineer came out and discovered the dog had chewed through the mains cable

Afternoon all - what a marathon shopping session we've had today. A new "retail park" has just opened up locally, on the site of what was once a steel foundry producing bucket teeth for excavators (bit over-specialised - they went out of business when the construction industry dried up in the recession). So, after doing Morrisons, Yorkshire Trading, Aldi, Iceland and Sainsburys - we just had to pay a visit to the new M&S Food Hall which opened on Wednesday; luckily, two of the other new shops - B&M Home Store with Garden Centre and Pets at Home - haven't opened their doors yet, so at least I avoided being dragged round them.
I don't know whether it was an apology or what, but SWMBO served up bacon, egg and black pudding for lunch when we got home

Nice early Autumn day up here now - we had a cold night last night, but now the wind has died down, and switched round to a warmer quarter - and the sun is out too - it's very pleasant.

Afternoon Chaps,

Just back from work and it has been nippy but with lovely autumn sunshine out there.

Few hours down time and then its off to Camera Club tonight.
Hopefully won't be a long evening as got to be up early for the Japanese Grand Prix qualifying before work

Where's Ian? I see the Thunderbirds film is on Film 4 in less than an hour, the 1966 proper one.

My bleedin' wallet nearly went light too Ian
Luckily, I managed to divert her attention as we drove past Lidl on the way home
The thing is, we put a list together, check the cupboards etc. etc. to see what we need, before we leave home. Half way round Morrison, there's about a dozen items in the trolley, The answer to the question "have you knocked them off the list?" was "they weren't on it!"

Lovely Freddie - a bit of judicious cropping to take some of the background out would give the car more prominence. I particularly like the first one - "A bridge just crossed"
