No sign of an Indian Summer yet.
We get a similar sound effect from rain on the boat as well

Well, what an eventful morning, it eventually stopped raining, so I went to do some work, got to destination, and it tipped down. Oh well vnip into local shop and get a coffee, see it stops. It didn't,whilst parked in the bays outside said shop, some old dear in a Honda Jazz, comes in to the bay on my right sideswiping the van in the process. After she straightened up and got out, I was stood by the side of the van surveying damaged large crease and scrape along side loading door. She said to me ,have I touched you? me ;yes, her;have I done any damage?,me; yes this big crease. Her; I cant have done that much, I hardly touched you!,me; well you have,I was sitting in the van at the time. So we went into shop and exchanged details, I told her I would get some estimates, and settle out of insurance companies, as there wasn't much damage. By the time I contact my insurer, she contacts hers, then I either have to wait for an assessor to come and inspect the damage, or take it to an ins co approved bodyshop, lose work time etc., it will be quicker/easier and cheaper settling the matter between ourselves. My local bodyshop that painted the bumper on the car, are closed for holidays had one quote from another local body repairer for 150.

That's very annoying to say the least !

At least you were there and witnessed it, I would guess had you not been she wouldn't have hung around to pop a note on the windscreen!

Well - the day has improved beyond all recognition. After a morning (started around 4.00am and lasted 'til after lunch) of torrential rain, it's now much brighter, drying out and there's even a touch of blue sky now and then.
