Well update first dry weather up here for a while so 15 minutes and old arm and rose bush out, really miss a garage to work in. Really cant see why it failed the mot on this some thick underseal would have covered it

By your statement, do you think it would have been safe to drive with ‘some thick underseal’ Plastered onto it? Or is that tongue in cheek statement?

Hi Rob. Yes I know you were joking. As Steve pointed out the . It is surprising how bad some of these upper arms rust away, and most people never get under their cars to check anything. I am und.er mine at least twice a year, and Waxoyle anything that requires it. Got some papermacha? For anything like those and a bit of fibreglass resin.

It's usually the top that holes but that one has gone underneath. Mine was solid underneath. Very difficult for the MOT testers to check the tops with the wheels on as they often go around the base of the spring on the inner side of the upper surface.
