Default 1.8 turbo high miles

I'm interested in buying a high millage 1.8 turbo it has 141000 on the clock, not a lot of history but the car has been well looked after by an enthusiast and is in great shape, my question is what are peoples thoughts on high millage k series engines
Cheers

Years ago I had a K series which covered 225,000 in 3 years without a problem .The engines will do the mileage but head gaskets need periodic changing .History is a very important factor .

My 1.8 is on 115k and running great. Seeing mileages of 225k achieved by the K engine is very good news, I'm very confident I can look forward to many, many more miles in Jasper. The HG was replaced on him at 100k, so I will be looking at another change in 30 k or so.
The 1.8 I'm told is very easy to work on, I don't have the skills to mechanic myself.

My 1.8t is just about to clock up 150,000 Like all other engines, look after them and they will serve you well.
