CD changer power but no sound?
Connected the CD changer to my Symphony unit and you can hear the changer power up and search etc. Problem is that when I hit the CD button on the Symphony unit it does not switch to CD. Its as if the head unit does not recognise the CD changer. I am thinking I have not connected something and there are some wires at the back hanging loose. Suggestions appreciated.

How have you connected the changer? What wires are hanging loose?

Finally got to get a picture. I had another go today and fitted the cd changer in the glovebox, connected every single plug/wire and anything else I could see and this yellow plug with 3 wires is all I have left.
Go on tell me its something really obvious that I am missing.

Is your changer an Alpine unit ?
The Symphony has to have a Alpine changer with one of the following numbers. XQE 100430 XQE 105560 XQE 000110PMAD VUB 102140 VUB 105400 Any other changer will need an interface unit. Also your changer must have a connection to the K Bus system. There should be a white/red/yellow wire in the changer/radio lead, and this wire should be connected to the K Bus wiring. You can find a white/red/yellow wire connected to the IPK but any K Bus connection will do. Dave T |

Is it also worth mentioning that my steering wheel controls do not work either?
