British World Champion
Being 'one of those' road cycling types, I just thought I'd point out the Mark Cavendish has won the World Road Race title in Copenhagen. It was the culmination of 3 years work with support from an amazing 8 riders forming team GB, his team mates between them, hold olympic and world championship medals already as well as hundreds of titles from the top races in the world.
This is no mean feat given that the last time GB won was in 1965 with Tom Simpson. I'm guessing very few will care as it appears it's only football, rugby and cricket that sparks peoples imagination in this country although GB has 'the' best cyclists in the world, something for us all to be proud of.
