query about ignition barrel immobiliser coil
I have a query about the query about ignition barrel immobiliser coil.
This is the black thing that goes around the ignition barrel when the key goes. Is this configured to the car or can I just remove it and fit it to another car without doing anything else? If configured, can it be reconfigured or do I need something else from the donor car as well? thank you macafee2 |

It's not configured to the car, basically it's just a bit of plastic with an aerial built into it
You can swap it over without any problems Russ

Just out of curiosity Russ. When I got the 260 I got a flip key then discovered the immobiliser bezel is deeper on a 260 () and the key won't go in deep enough. Could the bezel be swapped for a shallower one from another (non V8) ZT/75.
Would it be a simple swap or would the instructions start with removing the rear number plate |

Ah yes Steve, forgot V8's have the added armour to the lock
To be honest I've never had reason to change one on a V8, but I think it might be the same it's just the armour under it that makes it stick forward further Russ
