HI Ian.
No you can not just swap the cluster over from one car to the other, you have to have the new cluster virginised and then T4 to your car contact one of the T4 guru's on here Big Russ, Marina Brian, Trikey they will tell you more.

Thanks Artic
Had hoped a straight swop ,not too worried about the mileage as long as all elements worked correctly.the one I got was also from a diesel .

The Rev counter won't read correctly if you use a diesel ipk on a petrol model, you will also get an err instead of the trip mileage as it won't contain the correct vin and mileage.

Hello big Russ
The donor is a diesel.
Mine also is a diesel
I had read in a year old post that after around 100 miles approx the trip resets??
Naturally you would have to brave to find that's not the case,
As I said not concerned about the mileage ,she is going back to france and I will keep until I no longer drive , I have fully rebuilt the rear end ,front suspension inc track ends new gearbox as someone fitted a petrol box ( talk about rev).
Repaired all the mice attacks to wiring and rubber fuel pipes abs dead now good ,new discs etc everything working except upper information screen /intermittent, new tazu master cylinder and on and on .
So pretty much used up more than I had planned ,so budget is blown now!

Regards ian

Ian, the mileage does not reset after 100 miles, and you will have a permanent "Err" where the trip display is, also add into the mix if the IPK has come out of a saloon rather than a tourer, the ZCS coding mismatches which are the real pickle

Why not make one from two and swap the eeprom which stores the pertinent data, or have it reflashed back to virgin state then coded to the car.

That way it will work properly

Hello Marinabrian
Thanks for your reply that is a good suggestion and probably the route to take I will find out which body type in the mean time and later on my zt190+ has lines that need attention, perhaps I could in future at your convenience/mutual, come and get it/ them sorted ! can use this apart from the milage issue without other problems as I really wish to have mpg data ! Not a problem on the 190+ as all transfer s onto TV! diesel no other option
Thanks for your input and warning of caution !
