Default Damsel in distress..mot failure. Brake line problem

Hi all

My 2003 ZT failed it's mot today as the testing station suggested all the brake pipes need renewing😥

This is my only car that gets me to and from work.

Is there anyone that could renew these for me please,as I only have 10 days before I have to paya re-test fee..

Scunthorpe/Doncaster area

Forever grateful

I've edited your title to say about the brake issue. Hopefully that will attract more responses.

And also a wee bump!,

Hi,

The go to man is Andy Willi at Carcroft near Doncaster - send him a PM as he is a trader on this site - knows the cars backwards.

"Suggested" Debs?

What did the failure sheet actually say?

Sheet says:

Repair immediately (major defects):
Nearside Headlamp not working on dipped beam (4.1.1 (a) (ii))
Rear Tyre(s) of different sizes are fitted on the same axle. (5.2.3 (b))
Nearside Brake pipe excessively corroded main (1.1.11 (c))
Offside Brake pipe excessively corroded main (1.1.11 (c))
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Nearside Front Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material (1.1.11 (c))
Offside Front Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material (1.1.11 (c))

Gulp !

So in fact It's only failed on both front to rear brake pipes, a common problem on these cars.
The two front (shorter) brake pipes have only been advised & if they were that corroded, they would have failed.
A new bulb needed for the dipped beam & sort out the odd size tyre on the rear, not too bad at all really.

You'll be lucky to do a whole R75/ZT/ZT-T out of one roll of Kunifer
