I went from std reflectors to projectors on my Mk1. They were fine, but getting a bit of a rarity. I like things simple so rejected the xenons (is that how you spell it?) I didn't want to blind everyone with HID's.

They’re plug and play as they say.
Would you like to try a set?

Plug and play, and well worth fitting if you live in a rural area and your night vision isn't as good as it once was.

Remember there are two types of Mk2 projectors (with the bullseye lens). One is the OEM 'xenon' type, which have HID burners and the halogen type which use ordinary filament bulbs. However, you can get HID burners that will fit the H7 halogen bulb holder, which converts filament prjectors into HID projectors. Doing this also requires the use of a ballast gizmo to boost the voltage 12v DC to 20,000v AC. These come in kits.
The HID burners come in several flavours (colour tempertures). The OEM burners are 4300K type, which give the maximum light. It's usually advised not to exceed 6000K to avoid becoming over blue and less illuminating. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 13th September 2018 at 14:36.. |

I've got all three plus 1 with after market HID bulbs in a standard unit, on the 4 75's I have, and for me I find Projectors with Philips +130% halogens best of all. Frankly I don't like the Xenons, factory units or after-market bulb+ ballast xenon 'conversion' of regular/projector halogen units. Those Philips bulbs really are super good, better than the Osram version I have tried too.
