Default Help identifying model

Might sound a strange question this but would anyone know how to identify if my car is a CDT or a CDTi.

I was under the impression that it was a CDTi but the V5 document just says CDT. I'm not that bothered which it is but want to be accurate for insurance and other details.

The Reg is YA52VNX.

Thanks for anticipated help

I believe the MGRover info site is working again after dropped the non working captcha link although I haven't tried it. Give it a try by entering you VIN number.

According to the gov.uk site where you can check if a car is taxed and MOT'd the CO2 emissions value for a CDTi is 163g/km and for a CDT it's 190g/km. Your car is listed as 190g/km so I'd say it's a CDT.

As far as I am aware the only difference apart from the above is the mapping. The CDT being 115/6 & the CDTi being 131. Possibly the addition of the "i" being a marketing thing by Rover as there could have been 131's prior to the "I" addition.

Are they not figures for auto and manual? And both have inter coolers, so the i would apply to both.

I believe the i was simply a marketing exercise, from my reading. There is also another option too. Leaving as a 116, then having the dealer option 131 installed .....

Don't know my diesel 75/ZTs but surely the "i" would represent an intercooler fitted?

Yes it is 190g/km on the log book so that would seem to be the case.

Thanks

Yes I think that you are right, as mentioned it doesn't make a scrap of difference to me but as the seller described the car as a CDTi I wanted to make sure in case it made any difference in description for insurance or any other purpose.

Thanks

My Zed which I've owned since 18 months old ,

Has a CDTI badge.

Is listed iin its service book as a CDti. 135

Rover info site shows it as CDti 135 from its Vin

Yet the Gov Sites MOT etc .. show it as a 190 g/km.

A I recall a few Insurance sites come up with CDT ? for this Reg.

So take your pick ?

Although being an Auto its usually kicked up a taxation class
