Default the shed is dead

well it the end for my daily driver needs moting in less than a month so as the weather has gone mild thought i would start with the rear springs and shockers but while i was puting
her on axle stands i noticed this on the passenger rear sill where the jacking pad had been left in.so im going to use this one for all my spares on my other projects and try and get myself sorted.

Isnt it just the underside of the rear sill that people like T Hobbs will make like new for around £150.

Unfortunately there are very few as capable as Tom
Tom is currently out of action due to the actions of the scum of society
His workshop was broken into and his livelihood was taken from him as all his tools and equipmentwere stolen .Few are capable enough to carry out the repairs you need .Beware of the patch that covers the rot .In order to be repaired correctly all the rot will require removal and new panels fabricated and welded to the remaining sound metal .Tread carefully with the so called experts in this field .

I agree that Tom's expertise is quite rare and I am also aware that Tom is unfortunately out of action due to the situation mentioned but the point I am making is that tin worm is a known thing in this area of our cars and is by no means terminal on an otherwise healthy example.

The only reason I'm going to break it it also needs springs shockers front arms plus a new exhaust plus a few other things for it the worst part about it is it's only done 129.000miles and I've never had any problems with her it's a real shame but a few of my others will live on thanks to her.

Agree with every word, I had both sides done by Tom, £100 a side and like new, if that is all that's wrong and it's a keeper it's well worth doing, I know it's easy for me to say this because it's not my car but for anyone in this situation, don't give up!

These cars are getting fewer by the day, but, the bottom line is if it keeps other cars on the road it's an acceptable compromise as far as I'm concerned, after all at some point you have to let go.
