So sorry to hear this Trevor, going to be some difficult times coming. I know you've had your differences with some here but there is also a lot of support available. I can testify to that from when I lost both my parents in a very short space of time.

Thanks to all for the kind words.

There is not much more I can say, it's a terrible illness and hard to see a very loving person just fade before you and so quickly.
My sympathies go out to anyone who has been or is in this position.

I'll come back to the thread once we know what treatment if any is offered.

Again thank you all.

May I add my sincere sympathy Trevor - I do know something of what you are going through.

Do not give up hope - treatments today are quite amazing even compared to what was available just a decade ago. And we were bowled over by those. My wife had an issue that was not quite the same but it was an awful time but the treatment worked.

I hope this phrase helps - it helped support us both.

“Cancer is something that you are more likely now to die with, than of.”

Very best wishes.

Sorry to read this sad news Trevor, I too know of what you’re going through as my partner is having major health issues too but we’re over five hundred miles apart. Thinking of you both

It is a long time since I logged into this forum for my own reasons.

2018 was a very hard year for myself and my wife Anne with health issues but the big blow has now struck Anne, Anne is only 56 and has been struck down with Cancer, She was fine on the run up to Christmas and only started getting problems on Boxing Day. She visited the GP on the 27th of December with right shoulder pain and pain at the bottom of the ribs on the same side, the GP diagnosed Pleurisy and prescribed antibiotics. This made no difference and the pain got worse, Anne then saw another GP who took bloods and sent her on her way, another 5 day wait and she was asked to go to the surgery for more bloods, After all the delays she was admitted to hospital on the 10th of this month after a 9 hour wait for a bed. Sadly the diagnoses is Primary Bowel Cancer and Metastasis on the liver, the liver cancer is advanced. She is home but very poorly and the prognosis in not good with palliative care the most likely outcome. We see the Oncologist on the 22nd with their treatment plan.

It is a very hard time for the whole family and of course Anne.
We are sorry to read this news Trevor. Please keep us posted, your friends are all rooting for you both. Hopefully the Oncologists will be able to treat Anne’s cancer, what a worry.
