Chaps; isn't Ray making a very good point here? Shouldn't he be concentrating on checking the solenoid valves electrically?

From memory I believe the winding of the solenoid breaks down this begins with an intermittent fault and progresses to total failure giving the harsh changes. Worth noting they are seriously harsh changes. As said previous the multi-plug needs to be separated and checked with a multi-meter.

Thanks again Dave, this is an intermittent fault and therefore seems more likely to be selenoid trouble. I shall do as you say with a multimeter. But Christmas is upon us now and there is a good coating of frost on the car and for the next few days l shall be holding a glass rather than tools. So l shall wish all members a very Merry Christmas. Best Wishes. Ray.

Does the deal include P&P or is that extra ? the listing is not clear on postal costs, also when would the item arrive due to the time of year, & the festive period.

At that price it would be worth maybe purchasing one to keep on the shelf ?

HI Steve.
Link below gives you a couple of places for the gasket, which other members have used
