A similar thing used to happen around Wembley whenever there was a match or concert on.
There were lots of small factories and offices with car parks in the area, so the chancers would don a white coat and collect parking fee's from unsuspecting motorists. |

I've seen various stories on this theme, mostly American. Probably happened the odd time or two. I doubt it happened for 25 years though.

I have seen a variation of this story for lots of years now, I have no doubt someone has tried a similar thing and is probably still doing so, the idea is good because you don't mind paying a quid or two to park all day, I just need a bit of ground close to a hospital ... £3.80 for 1 hour 15 minutes
