ECU Water failure
Hi all.
I have a Rover 75 2003 cdti and sadly found the ECU has had water in its electrics. The fuel pump has stoped working (no fuel flow at the filter). I have checked the following: No voltage on the white/(colour) and black thick wires on the multi plug for fuel tank(in tank pump) when the ign switch is in position 2 No sound from the fuel pump when plug connected. Fuse 28 ok. Fuel pump relay socket (coil) has only 8.4vdc when in ign pos 2. 12vdc on appropriate contact pin ok Relay OK changed it with the horn relay. Horn worked ok. Water in ECU plastic case and damp around ECU itself (one ECU screw rusty and damp, water staining on circuit board) looks like only one corner was immersed. Pretty sad hey. Someone had removed the ECU sometime back and didn't replace it on the box mounting rails just left the box in the bottom of the plenum hence the water in one corner (rusty screw). Any help on a replacement please? Ta. |

Marinabrian would be the guy to speak to but i think he is busy with work so may not be doing repairs at the mo but worth a try.

Yes it sounds like your ECU has succumbed to the water ingress.
If you'd like to send me a PM I'll be happy to sort it out for you. Russ
