And I'm sure we don't have to wait till after the event to predict what social media will be saying.

It may be a different style but you at least have to give the guy a chance...
Oh I know that, he does admit though he hasn't a clue regarding how they work! A lot like Jeremy methinks!
Like I say money doesn't make you a car buff!!

Liken it to this. I could buy 10 prewar tv sets all restored for £120,000. If they broke down I wouldn't have a clue how to fix them.
Because I restore them and know how they work I can buy a dog for £1000 and bring it back to full glory.
So whose the Person you would listen to the restorer or the collector?

He's very much a car buff, he may not strip them down to nuts and bolts but that doesn't make him any less interested in cars. But then TG isn't a car restoration program.

The last couple of series of Top Gear were poor to mediocre with the occasional gem. That gem was few and far between.
Add to this a reasonable number of members here could not stand Top Gear, as per the threads inot the past .

I prefer Evans to Clarkson, always have.

Let's see what it's like .One things for sure the Clarkson, May, Hammond line up was getting stale.

The BBC have the title to a programme that has cost an awful lot of money, that's all they have though, the people who made Top Gear what it was have gone, Chris Evans will merely be a term time host, they have to be seen to be doing something apart from sitting there with an ever more expensive finger up their jacksey.

I think you've missed my point. Although Chris has an amazing Ferrari collection I firmly believe that's as far as it goes.
I don't think a hands on TC is what the public want. If you listen to Chris in the morning he makes a good few blunders, the car community like accuracy and some banter. Chris I'm afraid in my eyes isn't knowledgeable enough and his style may not to be everyone's liking, you need a proper car buff with charisma for the show.
