Blast, l'd have bought a 100 instead of my 110 if l'd known about the starter button.

Removing the steering lock seems the way to go & the tea-leaf who drives it away will surely appreciate the style of having a starter button.

And l think car manufacturers simply add this kind of feature as a pure gimmick, nothing more.

COLVERT, I appreciate it that you're worrying but my least concern now is my insurance company, will try thinking of a way to have it all figured out after putting it all together with the installing part.

yes that is correct, but with a switch installed to stop it if need be, also installed a second clutch switch so I put foot on clutch the press start, "starts" as the brake peddle isn't always live so you had the press button twice.

...............
You know the 100/110 got different instruments as it was produced along the P5 AND the P6 a bit later.
They also got a "safety" panel on top of the dash where previously there was wood.
And for the engine, roller cam followers and detachable inlet manifold courtesy of Mr Weslake.
And eventually steel doors and lids!

And, as for the discussion here, they omitted the little "g" spot.

(g for "go" mind you!)

Yes, l know all that though wasn't aware that all previous to the 100 (95?) & 110 had starter buttons.

Actually, though l've only ever driven my P4 the 110 lifts her skirts very well thanks to Harry W. & l don't regret buying her at all though l do appreciate the earlier body styles, especially the flat-front models.

Mine is an early 110 so has alloy lids & doors (bar one) & the later interior matches my P5B nicely too.

Yes, they do go well! But he 105S does too!
Lovely cars and interesting handling in the corners.
Mind you the P5 is also nose heavy with the straight 6.

Really a shame with the complicated picture posting procedure!

I had a Mk1a 3 litre saloon. Very nice, double bench seat, auto on the column.
Some dullard came round a bend on my side & l went straight into him, destroyed his Escort but a concrete bollard did for the Rover. Gutted!

We appear to have gorn orf topic somewhat.

I have start button on my Freelander 2 ,you need to depress the clutch before the button works,so must be some sort of switch on the pedal.

It also has the start/stop technology, the first 4x4 to have it fitted.

Ok guys, I understood the principle of the relay for transponder and the switch for the clutch pedal, but if somebody could list here the switch and the relay that we need and how to install them, I would be really grateful
