You have listened to it recently? Keep the tank over a quarter full and the car will run perfectly on just an OEM UBP.

One of the problems of letting the fuel go down to a quarter or less in the tank, is that the air space that this allows in the tank, let’s water vapour from said air condense on the sides of the tank, and could lead to problems with the fuel filter. And diesels can suffer more than petrol vehicles because if there is a lot of fuel returned to the tank, don’t forget it is quite warm after being compressed through the injection processes.k

Mrs Jules and many others often let the light come on and ZT still on original pump (112k)

Inside many customers tanks I can happily say I've not observed any water droplets.
Often I come across black bacterior globules though which we vacuum out during pump changes.

Condensation was a problem in metal tanks but not really an issue with plastic tanks.

Also we drain every fuel filter we change before proper disposal and again little if any water is detected there either.

So unless water is introduced somehow from filling stations I would conclude water/moisture is not an issue in these fairly modern cars !

Both pumps at once????????? check you have a supply voltage present on the white and purple at the pump

Normally when turning sharp right or travelling around a roundabout is the exact moment when a tidal surge occurs in a blocked plenum, deluging the ECM

Just before you condemn the pumps

when i say both have failed the u/b one is making a noise but the fuel pressure is according the rac laptop only a 103 bar.plus it starts on easy start.the plenums are clear as i only rodded them this week not that they needed it.we are replacing the underbonnet one asap it will i hope then start i will then run it to use up the tank full off diesel .then do the tank pump, will off course check the voltage on the wire.
