Thats a lovely high spec late car, maybe over priced but I for one wouldnt knock what a beauty it is. Ive had numerous conversations with people why do I drive a "shyyte Rover" when Ive had them but its a fine line telling people they are wrong to slate them at the same time telling them their car is NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- at the same time. Forgot to add the classic rear seat bench jammed.
With all these faults it got me thinking, with all the research and development what the hell were people doing with so many basic faults on what is a lovely car? These are basic functions not untried technology such as speaking computers from the MG maestro era. (Which I would love to have!) |

Ive still not tried the SprayMax, life has got in the way.
As soon as I get a clear run, (hopefully not on the 2K coat!) then I'll post all the photos. Seeing the reviews of SprayMax online, people are RAVING about it. Furthermore its made in Germany, which leads me to believe it will work great. |

Interest subject, just spoke to my paint supplier who tells me he supplies a lot of pro guys who do this for a living, guess what, they use aerosol 2 pack !!!
Only down side is once you have cracked the can you only have an hour or so to use it- hence why you see many guys mixing their own up and using hobby touch up sprayers. He tells me not to use acrylic clear as that does eventually de laminate but 2 pack is fine !!! |

You might be OK spraying a door mirror for example anything with larger area would cost a lot with spraymax, £22 a can..plus all the prep coats and 2pack top clear.. Made in Germany or China in the wrong hands could spell disaster |

Hi Rick and others,
How are your lights 6 years later without the clearcoat? Had to redo it again in this time? Also see youve removed the frontbumper on yours. Mine also has the double light so looks easyer to do the work with the bumper removed, how easy (or not) is it to remove front bumper? Advice on lights and bumper would be very appriciated |

Before pulling the sides of the bumper away from the bodywork protect the edge of the wing with masking tape as the bumper usually springs back once its pulled off the clip. |

A TIP
A few weeks ago I used a 3M kit on my cloudy lenses. I am most impressed with the result, but offer a tip for those about to take this step. Both the kit's guidance, and the You-Tube videos that I watched emphasised the need to ensure that, in the latter stages, the pad & polishing mix doesn't get too dry. To ensure this, I sprayed on water regularly. This did keep the area suitably wetted, but had the side effect that excess polish got sprayed all over the engine bay. So, THE TIP:- When preparing to polish, place old newspaper, or a cover that can be cleaned easily, over the engine bay, wing tops and, if possible, the underside of the bonnet. . |
