Indicator/fuse issue?
On the way home from work today, a warning popped up on the dash telling me a bulb had gone. And when indicating right, it was flashing very rapidly.
Stopped and turned the engine off, the display informed me that both front and rear drivers side indicator bulbs have blown. Is it a common or known issue that both front and rear bulbs will go at the same time? Or should I be looking towards a fuse or other electrical issue first? I've had a look at the interior fuse box, cant find anything which is identified as indicators or repeater lights. Engine bay fuse box certainly seems to have fuses for the lights but I would like to have a bit more info to hand before i go poking around. Any help this evening would be much appreciated.

Swapped drivers and passenger sides bulbs; still working.
Any ideas of any electrical issue which would cause this?

With indicators the IPK shows which side not which bulb. It will show right hand indicator meaning a right hand indicator bulb has gone, not both, you need a walk round to see which bulb is at fault. Hitting a pothole can dislodge a bulb or a wee bit corrosion can break the contact and bring the warning up, swapping the bulbs has solved the problem.
My right hand front indicator frequently goes on holiday, a hefty thump brings it back! Last edited by stevestrat; 17th December 2013 at 21:14.. |

It gave me a nice animation showing that both front and rear had gone.
Had a walk around with hazards on, both of them were out. The side repeater was still working. Swapped the rear bulbs around, and again the drivers side was dead while passenger side flashes amber looking very happy with itself.
