This has worked for me on two previous occasions. At least twice the recommended dose..... not a guarantee, but a very cheap first option! I wish you good luck!

Btw.... if you're wondering what "overdose" means, I'd say a whole bottle of RedEx to half a tank of diesel!
It's certainly worth another a go for the sake of £4.99 the previous dose already halved the injector inbalance who knows it may just clear it completely.

If it did clear the injector inbalance then if it still smoked it must be either a further intake leak/blockage of some discription or the turbo.

The only other thing I can think of as possible cause is that the turbo wastegate could be stuck open partially, although the car doesn't feel down on power.

One thing is certain it won't pass it's next MOT emissions test as it is at present.

Been in contact with Alan from Lynx desiels, his comments are below:

Looking at the figures, i don't think the injectors are your problem.
Check turbo pressure and correct operation of air mass meter.
This smacks of air starvation, check also the exhaust for restriction.
Let me know how you get on.

This too points to a possible turbo / air issue

just thinking out loud , has the diesel pump been looked at , could be over fueling ? has it ever been turned up ? or would the t4 check this.? if you have any problems with intercooler pipes ,or turbo , its normally always white or blue smoke is it not. ? like i said just thinking of the top of my head..

The car has only had two owners, me being the second, the first was a business so hopefully it should not have been messed with too much. For reference car mileage is 59K on a 55 plate

I have been in contact with Russ and we have an action plan !

To discount any MAF issues
- disconnect the MAF and check smoking
- replace my MAF with Russ's and check smoking

Exhaust blockage
- visual check the condition of the exhaust for damage / blockage

Air intake issues
- Look for obvious leaks, split hoses, damaged intercooler (clean out whilst impecting)

Turbo
Check turbo wastegate
If all else fails look at a replacement turbo

To be done in order and leaving the most expensive option while last !
Thanks for all your suggestions

Has the CAT collapsed or gone?
No sensors on this on diesel for T4.

Thanks JDC, going to be having a careful look for a collapsed cat when we examine the exhaust system.

Plugging in another ecu won't work as they need to be matched to the car, as far as I am aware the ECU has not been wet.

Russ,

Prior to the MAF replacement the ECU did get a soaking, the 'local Garage' dried it out and then have sealed the ecu in
The first time I came down to see you, we were going to have a look at exactly what they had done but never got around to it.
