Default The scottish Lorry driver that changed his life around

Good morning, yes I know I'm up at silly o-clock, not working for the next three days, but finding it difficult to sleep, so went out in the car for a bit to relax, but some cigarettes and get diesel in the car ready.

While I was in the garage, caught up with a good mate of mine that used to doors nightclubs, we were having a good and catch up.

Fast forward, A lorry driver packed behind my car to fill up his Scania, came to the shop and started having a chat with my mate as he works there on the tills, I could tell he was struggling too understand him, very heavy Glaswegian accent, he keeps looking at me as to say do something.

After a having a giggle to myself, I spoke to the driver, I can understand him no problem at all, Chery's dad had a very heavy ascent like his, but overtime it get used to it and its no problem at all.

We have a good chat about things, from cars, trucking, Scotland, Wales Football everything of everything, also a few dirty jokes thrown, would love to share but I can't I'm afraid. he made me laugh he really did.

But this part of the convo get's interesting at the same time gaining his respect for him for tuning his life around.

He was saying that when he was younger living in Scotland, he was a bit of a rouge and a trouble maker, when I was younger my parents never gave me displine, my dad left and married other women, the last thing he said too me was I'm ashamed to have you as my son, I used to get into trouble a lot and did drugs you know, my mum had too put up with me, I don't how she did, but she did.
Over the years I got done for fighting and posseion of class A's.

I never was a angel and I admit I did do wrong in a lot of things, I've been to prison and served my time and overtime I started get out of that, not straight away, but I got there after the help I received.

I've got a wife and kids now they mean the world to me.
I've had a bad beginning in life, but doesn't mean you can't change for the better, its never too late.

If I know or see someone struggling I help them out you know, I understand what there going through as I've experienced it myself and its made me more humble and respectful too people, back then I never did it was only me me me me, that was all I cared about at the time.

Fair play to him you know, he's got balls to put his hands up and admit I've done wrong.

At the same time change to the person he is now, I would never have thought he was the way he was you know, in the shop he seemed really polite and up for a laugh, gave him a few of my ciggrates too him as we were chatting.

He's got my respect for that, yes he's done, but that's water under the bridge now.

Well done to him.
