Default another zt with fuel filter problems

Hi, new on this forum, just bought a nice `05 model zt160+ in black 4 weeks ago, and out for a drive it suddenly died down and stopped! Towed it to local garage and explained what had happened and the mechanic said "what do you expect, its a Rover". Next day called in garage to find out I had the filter module problem, and that the part would`nt be in for 4 to 5 weeks. The car is on warranty so can`t repair it myself in case I lose it.

If the filter has come apart all it needs is to be screwed back together then you can be on your way again. It is a 10 minute job to fix not 4-5 weeks. You will need to fit the orange clip eventually to stop it doing it again or a self tapping screw can be put in through the body and lid to stop it coming apart again.

I would take my car to another garage if the mechanic said that to me.

Thanks for the advice, sounds like the garage is making a big job of this problem. I will have a word with them and post the result!
