Damaged sills

Hi,
I am new to this forum, so bear with me.
I have just bought a 75 conn tourer cdti auto, but both of my sills have damage.
Rather than try to drill and pull the dents out, is there any access through the fixing holes of the chrome sill covers to push the dents out from behind using a suitable tool.
Has anyone tried this, and how do the covers come off?

hi welcome to the club,.idont think you can repair the sills this way you will probly cause more damage i have the same problem with my car which is probably due to axle stand damage when jacking the car up dont knw if you can hide it with sided skirts off a zt

A bodyshop will be able to weld a slide hamer on to them and pull them out abit. Then fill them and paint. They would look as good as new but the damage would still be there to some degree.

I think the weakest point on the 75#s body is the doors which have no bump strips on them at all and mine has a few odd dings hear and there.

Thanks for the advice. Yes the add on sills may be the answer.

By the time you've bought them, painted and fitted them, a half decent body shop would have done a good repair

Story of my life

Turns out the damage was caused by the garage that did my MOT when driving the car off the ramp. I know this as a bloke at the garage told me about it but they won't accept liability and all the ramps have now been re-painted so no paint will be left on them from my car.

Never mind.

Yes, very similar damage to mine.
Looks like you have to lose the sill protectors in chrome that run the length of the sill, which is a shame.
The skirts look like they will cover all of the damage though.

Does anybody know how easy the sill protector is to get off and how easy the new skirts are to fit? Do they just glue on?

The rover orig kits clip on.

Lates has a set for sale.

I'm getting mine fixed as it is less expensive. I've been quoted £110 all in.
