Default Rear Handbrake Shoes

Noticed a scraping noise from the nearside rear wheel on Friday and just found time to remove the rear wheel and disc to find that the friction material of the rear hadbrake shoes had completely broken away from the shoes (see pictures below). Had noticed in the past that the shoes tended to stick when parked up after getting wet and reckon the unsticking has, over time, caused the friction material to break away from the shoes. Something to check if you ever have the rear discs off.
